RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA APPROVI~G THE APPLICATION FOR 1980
STATE GRANT MONIES FOR ACQUISITION lL~D DEVELO~IENT
OF PARKS IN THE CITY OF S&~TA MONICA
w~EREAS. the people of the State of Callfornia have enacted the California
Parklands Act of 1980. which provides funds to the State of California and its
polltical subdivlsions for acquiring lands and for developing facilities for
publlc recreation and historical purposes; and
l~EREAS. the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibllity for the administration of the program within the State. setting up
necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and
~~EREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and
Recreation requlre the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applicatlons
prior to submission of sald app1lcations to the State; and
I~EREAS, the applicant agency wlll enter into an agreement wlth the State of
California for the acquisltlon and/or development of the project,
xow, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica does resolve
as follmvs:
SECTIOK 1. The flllng of the attached applicatlon for 1980 state grant
assistance for acqulsltion and development of parks in the City of Santa Monlca
is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. The City Council certlfies that the City understands the
assurances and certificatlon ln the applicatlon.
SECTIOX 3. The City Council certifles that the City has or will have sufficient
funds to operate and m8lntain the proJect.
SECTIO~ 4. The City Council certifies that the City has reviewed and
understands the General Provislons contained in the state/local agreement.

SECTION 5. The C1ty Manager 1S appolnted as agent of the C1ty to conduct
all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including but not limited
to applications, agreewents, amendments, pa}lllent requests, and so on which may
be necessary for the complet1on of the aforement10ned project.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certlfy to the adoption of th1s resolut10n
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
