A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA NONICA WAIVING FURTHER FOllilAL BID PRO-
CEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF A REPLACID1ENT OF CHILLER IN LIBRARY
AIR CONDITIONER
wriliREAS, the chiller portion of the main library air
conditioning system is ~noperative and is need of $lO,OOO worth of
repair, and
WHEREAS, there is a new more energy efficient chiller available
for immediate installation which meets the City's new specifications; and
WHEREAS, an operative air conditioning system is essential
to the operation of the main library,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1 That formal bidding is hereby waived for the re-
placement of the library chiller system since formal bid procedures
would be of no avail and would cause unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 2 The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate
and execute a contract for the replacement of the chiller system for
the main library building
SECTION 3 The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
