A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS TO
AID IN BURGLARY AND ROBBERY SUPPRESSION
WHEREAS, the Santa Monica Police Department desires to
undertake a certain proJect designated as the Career Criminal
Apprehension Program; and
WHEREAS, the Career Criminal Apprehension Program will
be funded in part from funds made available through State
General Funds for Fiscal Year 1981-82 as authorized by
Chapter 1167 of the 1978 Statutes and as administered by the
Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP),
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager of the City of Santa
MonIca is authorized, on behalf of the City of Santa Monica,
to submit the attached Application for Grant for Law Enforce-
ment Purposes to OCJP and is authorized to execute on behalf
of the City of Santa Monica the attached Grant Award for Law
Enforcement Purposes including any extensions or amendments
thereof.

SECTION 2. The City of Santa Monica agrees to provide
all matching funds required for the above-described project
(~ncluding any extension or amendment thereof) under the
Career Criminal Apprehension Program and the rules and regul-
ations of OCJP and that cash will be appropriated as required
thereby.
SECTION 3. Grant funds received for the above-des-
cribed project shall not be used to supplant law enforcement
expenditures controlled by the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to he adoption
of this Resolut~on and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
