CITY COUNCIL SERIES
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIVING FORMAL BID PROCEDURE AND
AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR REBUILDING
TRANSFER STATION LOADING HOPPER
HHEREAS. The City of Santa Monica Sanitation Division has
a requirement for rebuilding the transfer station loading hopper. and
WHEREAS. the loading hopper was orignially installed by
Vicente Bowles; and
WHEREAS, the service for 16 years has been maintained by
Vicente Bowles; and
WHEREAS, to the best of the Staff's knowledge Vicente Bowles
would be the best qualified for this project.
NOW, THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ~ONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to rebuild the transfer station loading hopper.
SECTION 2. That bid solicitation would cause unnecessary
expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute a contract with Vicente Bowles to rebuild the transfer station
loading hopper.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
