A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT
GUTTERS ALONG BROADWAY BETWEEN OCEAN AVENUE AND
LINCOLN BOULEVARD WITH THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica is
empowered by Section 5870, et seq. of the Streets and Hlghways Code
of the State of Californla to construct gutters at various locatlons
within the City of Santa Monica;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest requires and it is the
lntention of the City Councll of the Clty of Santa Monica to order the
following work to be done, to Wlt: The constructlon of concrete gutters
along Broadway from Ocean Avenue to Lincoln Boulevard all in the City of
Santa Monica. The estimated essessment cost of the improvement is $5.00
per front foot.
SECTION 2. That sald proposed work or lmprovement in the
opinion of the Clty Council of the Clty of Santa Monica is of more than
local or ordinary public benefit, and said Council hereby proposes that
the district in the City of Santa Monica to be benefited by said work or
lmprovement and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof,
includes all of the property abutting Broadway between Ocean Avenue and
Lincoln Boulevard.
SECTION 3. Notlce hereby lS glven pursuant to said Sectlon
5870 et seq. that on February 26, 1980, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the
Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City of Santa Monica, situated
at 1685 Maln St. ln said City, any and all persons having any objections

to the proposed work or improvement may appear before the City Counc11
and show cause why the said proposed work or improvement should not
be carried out in accordance with said Resolution of Intention.
SECTION 4. The Super1ntendent of Streets 1mmediately shall
cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of sa1d contemplated
improvement not1ce of the passage of th1S Resolution of Intention in the
manner and form prescr1bed by law.
The City Clerk hereby 1S directed to maln notlce, in the
manner and form prescribed by law, of the adopt1on of th1S resolut1on to
all persons owning real property 1n the hereinbefore described assessment
distr1ct, whose names and addresses appear on the last equalized assessment
roll for city taxes or as known to the C1ty Clerk.
SECTION 5. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.
