RESOLUTION NO. 5466(CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN WEEDS
GROWING UPON CERTAIN LANDS WITHIN
THE CITY OF SANTA ~10NICA TO BE A
PUBLIC NUISANCE.
WHEREAS, there are weeds growing upon the streets, sidewalks, and
upon certain lots in the City of Santa Monica, which bear seeds of a wlngy
or downy nature or attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when
dry and are othervllse noxious and dangerous, and
HHEREAS, there are accumulatlons of rubbish, refuse, and dirt upon
certaln streets, sldewalks, and lots in the City of Santa Monica,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. All weeds growlng upon the streets, sidewalks, or upon
certain lots in the Clty of Santa Monlca, which bear seeds of a wingy or downy
nature or attain such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry or
which are otherwise noxious or dangerous are hereby declared to be a publlC
nuisance, and
SECTION 2. All rubbish. refuse, and dirt accumulated upon streets,
sldewalks or upon certain lots in the City of Santa Monica are hereby declared
to be a public nuisance.
SECTION 3. The names of the streets and descriptions of the prop-
erties in the Clty of Santa Monica upon which or in front of which sald
nuisance exists are as follows:

SECTION 4. That Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the
26th day of February, 1980, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located
in the City Hall, 1685 Main Street, Santa Monica, California, there shall be
a publ1C hearing before said City Council for the purpose of determin1ng
whether the public necessity, health, safety or welfare requires the above
descri bed I'lork.
SECTION 5. That the Street Superintendent be, and hereby 1S
authorized and directed to cause to be conspicuously posted in front of the
properties on which or in front of which the hereinabove described nuisances
exist, the notice in the form and 1n the manner pursuant to the powers and
authority contained in Sections 39560 through 39586 of the Government Code
of the State of California.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adopt1on of this
resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
