A RESOLr~ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
SETTI~G POS?E THE FEES TO BE
CEARGED FOR CERTIFICATES OF
APPROPnIATENESS LA!ID~ARK DESIG-
NATIONS AND HISTORIC DESIGNATIONS
WHER~AS, the purpose of Article IX, Chapter 6 of
the Santa Monica Municipal Code (Sections 9600-9620) is
to protect the City1s cultural, social, econoTIic, and
political history,
WHEREAS, this purpose includes the pronotion of the
use of La~dmarks and Historic districts for the education,
pleasure, and welfare of the people of Santa ~onica~
WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission of the City of
Santa Monica has unanlreously agreed that the dollar ~~ount
of filing fees should not discourage the citizens of Santa
Monica frcm participating in the historic preservation of
the City,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAlITA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTIon 1. For each application in connection with
the procedures covered in Chapter 9, Article VI of the
Santa Monica Municipal Code~ the Director of Planning shall
charge and collect the fOllowing fees:
Landmark Designation: Fifty Dollars ($50.00).
Historical District Designation: One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00).

Certificate of Appropriateness: Fifty Dollars ($50.00)
ni~i~um fee charged plus ten percent (lO%) of the alteration
costs over Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) not to exceed a total
fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
ELvironnen~al ar-d ~iscal Impact Report:
For processin€ each environmental or fiscal lmpact report, a fee
of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) for each One Million Dollars
($l,COO,OOO.OO) of estiBated value of the project, with a
mlnl~~ fee of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the saffle
shall be in full force and effect.
