R-5506 r~ ~ e_ .e T-79-6 (SM) RESOLUTION NO. 5506 (CITY COUNCIL SERIES) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO PLANT TREES ALONG SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD BETWEEN 20TH STREET AND 23RD STREET WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA WHEREAS~ the City Council of the City of Santa Monica is empowered by Section 5870~ et seq., of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Californ1a to plant trees at various locations within the City of Santa Monica; NOW, THEREFORE~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the public interest requires and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Monica to order the following work to be done~ to wit: The planting of trees along Santa Monica Boulevard from 20th Street to 23rd Street all in the City of Santa Monica. The assessment cost of the improvement is $1.75 per front foot to the abutting property owners and the balance of the cost is to be borne by the C1ty. SECTION 2. That said proposed work or improvement, in the opin10n of the City Council of the City of Santa Monica~ is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and said Council hereby proposes that the district in the City of Santa Monica to benefited by said work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof includes all of the property abuttlng Santa Monica Boulevard between 20th Street and 23rd Street. SECTION 3. Notice hereby is given pursuant to sa1d Section ..... -'!.. e_ ee 5870 et seq. that on March 25, 1980, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of said City of Santa Monica, situated at 1685 Main Street 1n said City, any and all persons having any objec- tions to the proposed work or improvement may appear before the City CounC1l and show cause why the said proposed work or improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution of Intention. SECTION 4. The Superintendent of Streets immediately shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated improvement not1ce of the passage of this Resolution of Intention 1n the manner and form prescribed by law. The City Clerk hereby is directed to mail notices, 1n the manner and form prescribed by law, of the adoption of this resolution to all persons owning real property in the hereinbefore described assess- ment district, whose names and addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll for city taxes or as known to the City Clerk. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cert1fy to the adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. VE AS TO F~ ~ -2- ,J" ..
