A ~ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE
CITY OF S~NTA MONIC~ AUTFORIZING THE FILING
OF AN P~PLICATION FOR SECTIO~ 8 FAPILY NF.~
CONSTRUCTION FUNDS, IN CONNECTION WITH PPE-
APPROVED SIDE DESIGNATIONS.
l~EREAS, on November 27, 1979, the City Council of the
C1ty of Santa ~~onica authorized the acauisit10n of two vacant par-
ce1s of land located at 2019-25 and 2221-2225 Fifth Street in
the City of Santa ~onicai and
~HEFF~S, these parcels were acauired with COmMunity
nevelop~ent Block Grant funds for the purpose of providing sites
for the develop~ent of low and moderate inco~e fawily hous1nq units;
and
WBEREAS, the City has been informed that under the
September 26, 1979 Notice of Fund Availability (NOFA) the City of
8anta ~1onica is ident1fied as a locality for priority consideration
and that th1s NO~~ exoires ~arch 1, 1980; and
~HEFEAS, the US Department of Rousing and Urban Deve1op-
~ent, Los Ancreles Prea Office, has indicated that funds for
Section 8 new construction are available to be reserved in resoonse
to the City's request; and
~FEREAS, the City has acquired the sites and HUD regulations,
under these circumstances, permit the City to select the developer,

WBEREAS, the city is desirous of expediting the develop-

of 8anta Monica.
NOW, THEREFORE, THF CIT~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
r~ONICA DOES PFFOLVF AS FOLLOlJJS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager shall be authorized and
directed to sub~it a request for preapproved site designation which
vTou1d lead to a reservation of funds for the development of twenty
to t~enty-four units of low and moderate incoMe family housing.
SECTION 2. That said request shall be filed by February
29, 1980.
SECTION 3. The Citv Clerk shall certify to the adootion
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be 10 full force and effect.
