RESOLUTION NO. 5518
CITY COUNCIL SERIES
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE
GUTTERS ON BROADWAY BETWEEN OCEAN AVENUE AND LINCOLN
BOULEVARD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 5464 (CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica, on the
22nd day of January, 1980, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention,
being Resolution No. 5464 (City Council Series), to order the work descrlbed
therein to be done, which in accordance with said Resolution of Intention
duly and legally notices were posted along the line of the proposed project
and written notices of said improvement have been given in the manner
required by law and any and all written objections and protests to the work
or the extent of the district to be assessed were heard and considered by
the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest requires, and the City
Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby orders the construction of
concrete gutters described in said Resolution of Intention to be done along
Broadway between Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard within the City of Santa
Monica. That all of said protests and objections of every kind and nature to
the proposed work or to the extent of the district to be assessed be and the
same hereby are overruled and denied.
SECTION 2. That Street Superintendent hereby is directed to
commence the construction of concrete gutters above descrlbed after a
60-day period wherever the property owners have not started the gutter
construction themselves.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk hereby is directed to post a
notice for five days on or near the door of the Council Chambers of the
City Hall inviting sealed proposals or bids for dOlng the work ordered
and referring to the specifications on file in the Offlce of the City Engineer
and to publish a notice inviting such proposals for two days in the Evenlng
Outlook, a newspaper published and circulated in said City.
SECTION 4. Reference hereby is made to said Resolution of
Intention for a map of the assessment district, and for further particulars.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.
