A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE SUPER-
INTENDENT OF STREETS REGARDING REPAIRS TO DAMAGED
SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS AND CURBS
WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Santa Mon1ca,
pursuant to Section 5600 to 5630 of the Streets and Highways Code, commenced
proceedings to cause the repa1r of damaged sidewalks, drlveways and curbs
in the City of Santa Monica, and
WHEREAS, Slxty (60) days after sald order was served, the work had
not been completed by the owners or persons 1n possess1on of the affected
properties, and the Superintendent of Streets caused the work to be done; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Streets did file with the Clty Council
of the City of Santa Monica hlS reports of such work, and a hearing thereon
was called by Resolution No. 5505 (C.C.S.); and
WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a noticed hearlng to consider
any protests or obJections to the Reports of the Work.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Report of Work of the Superintendent of
Streets heretofore filed and above described, be and the same 15 hereby
confirmed.
SECTION 2. That all of said protests and object1ons of every
kind and nature to the repairs or to the assessments and all appeals therefrom
to said City Council be and the same hereby are overruled and denled.
SECTION 3. That the cost of the repairs, as set forth in said
Report, shall be assessed against the properties herein described, which
properties front upon the improvement so constructed.

SECTION 4. That if such assessment is not paid within the time
permitted by law the same shall constitute a special assessment and lien
aga1nst the properties thereln described, in the amount set forth in said
Report~ which lien shall continue until the assessment and all interest
thereon 1S paid.
SECTION 5. That if the assessment is not paid within the time
perm1tted~ the City Clerk shall deliver a Notice of Lien, siqned by the
Superintendent of Streets, as provided in Sectlon 5626 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, to the County Assessor and Tax
Collector, who, in accordance with applicable law, shall collect said
assessment, toqether with all other taxes relating to such property.
SECTION 6. That the C1ty Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolut1on.
