A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SETTING
INCOME LIMITS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
UTILITY TAX REBATE PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY.
WHEREAS. the purpose of Article VI, Chapter 6A. Section 6633 of
the Santa Monica Municipal Code lS to provide a Utility Tax Rebate to
citizens of Santa Monica who are sixty-two years of age or older, or
who are disabled.
WHEREAS, one of the means to achieve this purpose includes ensuring
that the maximum gross household income limit for rebate eligibility be
a reasonable amount in terms of the present economy.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The maximum dollar amount of gross household income for
single person households for purposes of Senior Citizen Utility Tax Rebate
Program Eligibility shall be Ten Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($10,500).
SECTION 2. The maximum dollar amount of gross household income for
households of two or more persons for purposes of Senior Citizen Utility Tax
Rebate Program Eligibility shall be Twelve Thousand Thirty-Two Dollars ($12,032).
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution,
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
