A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH THE STATE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD
TO PERFORM A STUDY TO EVALUATE A COMMUNITY RECYCLING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The Solid Waste Management Board has offered resource
recovery grants to ass1st and encourage proJects which oromote the recovery
of resources and energy from waste, and
WHEREAS, The City of Santa Monica was awarded $34,700 on May 1,
1980, from this grant program to perform a feasib1lity study for a Community
Recycling Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the Clty of Santa Monica
authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract wlth the State Solid Waste
Management Board to perform a Commun1ty Recycling Feas1b11ity Study.
SECTION 2. That the City Council des1gnate the City Manager as the
authorized representatlve of the City of Santa Monica to act ln connection with
the study and to provide such additional informatlon as may be requlred.
SECIION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adopt1on of thlS
resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
