A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING COMPETITIVE BID PRO-
CEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION AtID
PURCHASE OF A Mm10RIAL TABLET TRIMMER.
WHEREAS, the purchase of a memorial tablet trimmer for use
at Woodlawn Cemetery has been approved; and
WHEREAS, this specialized machine is known to be available
only from one (1) source, and
WHEREAS, to issue a call for bids in this instance would
entail expense and delay with no reasonable assurance of benefit to the
City.
NOW THEREFOREj THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the purchase of a memorial tablet would be
advantageous.
SECTION 2. That, in the absence of known competition. a call
for bids would entail unecessary expense and delay with no reasonable
assurance of benefit.
SECTION 3. That competitive bid procedure for furnishing
this machine is waived.
SECTION 4. That the City Manager is authorized to negotiate
for and effect the purchase of this memorial tablet trimmer.
