A RESOLUTIOX OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MO:\lICA FOR
THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE
QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA A PROPOSITION CONSISTING
OF A PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT
RELATING TO THE ~4ENDMENT OF THE
RENT CO:-JTROL SYSTH1 IN THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA, A~D PROVIDI~G
FOR THE SUBMISSIO)J OF THE SAHE AT
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO
BE HELD ON THE SIXTH DAY OF NOVEMBER
1979.
THE CITY COU~CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, a petition for submission to voters of
proposed amendment to the charter of the City of Santa
Mon1ca has been c1rcu1ated w1th1n the Clty; and,
WHEREAS, said pet1t1on has been signed by the
requislte number of el1gible persons to qualify for the
ballot,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Santa Monica does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That a special municipal electlon shall
be held on the sixth day of November, 1979.
SECTIO~ 2. That at sald special munlclpal elect1on,
the followrng proposi tion 15 to be 5ubm1 tted to the qualified
electors of the Clty of Santa Monica:

SECTION 3. The City Attorney 15 directed to prepare
of Santa Monica, be amended?
an impartial analys1s for said propos1tion pursuant to Sect10n
5011 of the Elect10ffiCode of the State of Callfornia.
SECTIO~ 4. The c1ty Clerk shall cert1fy to the
adoption of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
