A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA FINDING THE PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND
NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET LIGHTING
IN THE AREA BOUNDED BY LINCOLN BOULEVARD, SOUTHEASTERLY
CITY LIMITS, HIGHLAND AVENUE~ AND MARINE PLACE NORTH,
ALL WITHIN THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEREASt a public hearing has been held duly and regularly
pursuant to Resolution No. 5353 (C.C.S.), and the laws and Constitution of
the State of Callfornia on the proposed improvement of the area bounded by
Lincoln Boulevard, Southeasterly City Limits, Highland Avenue5 and Marine
Place North, by the construction of street lighting and appurtenant work
thereto, as described in the Resolution of Intention No. 5354 (C.C.5.)5 for
said work~ all within the City of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, said improvement has been considered fully;
NOWt THEREFORE~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the said City Council hereby finds and detenmines
that the public convenience and necessity require the improvement of the area
bounded by Lincoln Boulevard, Southeasterly City Limits~ Highland Avenue and
Marine Place North by the construction of street lighting and appurtenant work
thereto 5 as described in the Resolution of Intention No. 5353 (C.C.S.).
SECTION 2. That the said City Council hereby flnds and determines
further that the "5peclal Assessment Investigation~ Limitation and Majority
Protest Act of 193111 shall not apply to the making of said improvement.

SECTION 3. That the said improvement shall be conducted
under the Improvement Act of 1911, which is Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, and the City Engineer and the
City Attorney presented to the said City Council the Resolution of Intention
required by said Improvement Act to initiate the proceedings for said improve-
ment.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
