A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SA~TA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
OPE~~TE THE PARKI~G LOT ON THE SA~TA MONICA
PIER AND ESTABLISHING THE RULES AND REGULA-
TIONS FOR THE OPE~4TION THEREOF.
THE CITY COU~CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTIO:.l 1. That the City of Santa }lonica \ViII operate
the automobile park1ng lot on the Santa ~onica State Pler.
SECTION 2. The followlng rules and regulatlons are
hereby established for the operation of said automobile parking
lot:
A. The rates to be charged shall be fixed by the
City Manager from tIme to time, but in no event shall exceed
THREE DOLLARS per day.
B. The lot shall be open and closed at such t1rnes
as the City ~anager shall from time to time determine.
C. No parking shall be permitted on said lot between
the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Cars remainIng on the lot
after 3:00 a.m. shall be subJect to be towed away and lmpounded
at the owner's expense.
D. Stop signs shall be erected at the entrance and
eXlt of said automobile park parking lot and there shall be
posted 1n a conspicuous place at the entrance of said automobile
park parking lot a sign which sign shall specify a reasonable
speed Ilmit, together with the prlces to be charged and the
hours of operatlon.

E. Upon the payment of the fee, parklng ticket shall
be lssued, and placed on dashboard by drlver. The tickets shall
be serially numbered and the portion to be handed to the driver
shall contain the following language'

This check entltled the bearer to one
parking space. The City of Santa Honica
hereby declares 1tself NOT RESPO~SIBLE
OR LIABLE for damages by fire or collision,
nor for loss to car or centents thereof by
fire or theft. ONLY A RE~TAL OF SPACE
LICENSE IS GRANTED HEREBY AND NO BAILMENT
IS CREATED. Any car left on the parking
lot between the hours of 3:00 A.~. and
5:00 A.}1. and any cars parked across any
Ilne or marklng of a parking space will be
subject to removal at owner's expense.
Acceptance of this check constitutes
acknowledgement by holder that he has read
and agrees to the foregolng conditions.

F. No person shall park any vehicle 1n said
automobile parking lot across any line or marking of a parking
space or in such positlon that the vehicle shall not be entlrely
withln the area deslgnated by such llnes or marklngs.
G. No person shall dispose of waste paper, trash
or other substances, except in receptacles provided therefor.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
