RESOLUTION NO. 5444

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION AND TRADE OF
PROPERTY FOR THE WIDENING OF CLOVERFIELD BOULEVARD
BETWEEN BROADWAY AND SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS~ the City Council of the City of Santa Monica approved
a major improvement plan for Cloverfield Blvd. between the Santa Monica
Freeway and Santa Monica Blvd. in 1973~ and the portion between the Santa
Monica Freeway and Broadway was lmproved in 1977~ and the portion between
Broadway and Santa Monica Blvd. was delayed due to property acquisition~ and
WHEREAS~ City Staff has negotiated a tentative agreement for
the final portion of property needed to complete the improvement;
NOW~ THEREFORE~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public safety and convenience require this
improvement and the City Council of the City of Santa Monica authorizes the
City Manager to trade 176.04 square feet of private property for a four-foot
strip of equal size of adjacent City-Owned property and acquire an additional
1~240 square feet of needed property to complete the improvement.
SECTION 2. The northwesterly lot line of Lot 6~ Block 4~
Schader's Addition as per map recorded in Map Book 6~ Page 67 in the Office of
the County Recorder of Los Angeles County be adjusted northwesterly four feet
and the parcel map requirement is hereby waived in accordance with
Section 66412(d) of the Subdivision Map Act of the State of California.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
