CITY COUNCIL SERIES
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA WAIAIVING FORMAL BID PROCEDURE
AND AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT FOR STREET
MAINTENANCE MATERIALS
WHEREAS, Maintenance of the City streets in safe operating
condition is in the best interest of the public, and
WHEREAS, purchases of materials for street maintenance were
made in the absence of a award for annual purchases from the
previous yearfs awardees;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to perform repairs on the City Streets to maintain t~em in
a safe condition.
Section 2. That solicitation of bids for street repair
materials was not carried out in a timely manner for the period
July 1, 1980 through December 31, 1980
Section 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute purchase orders to Blue Diamond Materials and to Bro\Yn
Company, dba Livingston Graham, for materials to carry out street
repairs through December 31, 1980.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
