RESOlUTION NO. 6136
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA FINDING THE PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY
REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREET LIGHTING ON SUNSET
AVENUE BETWEEN SEVENTEENTH STREET AND DEWEY AVENUE.
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held duly and regularly
pursuant to Resolut1on 6098 (CCS), and the laws and Constitutlon of the
State of California on the proposed improvement on Sunset Avenue between
Seventeenth Street and Dewey Avenue by the construction of street 11ghting
and appurtenant work thereto, as described in the Resolution of Intention
No. 6099 (CCS)~ for sald work~ all within the City of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, said improvement has been considered fully;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the sa1d City Council hereby finds and determines
that the publ1C conven1ence and necesslty requ1re the 1mprovement on Sunset
Avenue between Seventeenth Street and Dewey Avenue by the construct1on of
street lighting and appurtenant work thereto, as described 1n the Resolution
of Intention No. 6099 (CCS).
SECTION 2: That the said City Council hereby finds and determines
further that the "Spec1al Assessment Investlgation, Limitation and Majority
Protest Act of 193111 shall not apply to the making of said improvement.

SECTION 3. That the sald lmprovement shall be conducted under
the Improvement Act of 19l1~ which is Division 7 of the Streets and
H1ghways Code of the State of Californ1a, and the Street Superintendent and
the City Attorney presented to the sa1d City Council the Resolution of
Intention required by said Improvement Act to in1tlate the proceedlngs for
said improvement.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of th1S
resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
