RESOLUTION NO. 6138

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING
THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE STATE
LITTER CONTROL, RECYCLING AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FUND.
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Cal1fornia has enacted
the State Litter Control, Recycl1ng and Resource Recovery Act which provides
funds to certain entlties to demonstrate and implement recycling programs; and
WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board has been delegated
the respons1bility for the administration of the program, sett1ng up necessary
procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, sald procedures establ1shed by the State Solid Waste
Management Board requ1re the applicant to certify the approval of applications
prior to submission of sa1d applicat10ns to the state.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Counc1l approves the filing of an
application for fundlng under the Lltter Control, Recycling and Resource
Recovery Fund.
SECTION 2. That the Clty Counc1l certifies that sald agency
understands the general provisions of the grant agreement.
SECTION 3. That the City Council authorizes the Director of
General Services, as agent of the C1ty, to conduct all negot1ations, execute
and submit all documents including but not limited to applications, grant
agreements, amendments and payment requests, which may be necessary for the
completlon of the aforement1oned program.

SECTION 4. The C1ty Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.
