A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUKCIL OF THE CITY OF
SA~TA MONICA CALLING AND GIVI~G NOTICE OF THE
HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1981.
WHEREAS, SectIon 1400 of the Santa Monica City Charter provIdes
that a general municIpal electIon shall be held on the second Tuesday
In April in each odd numbered year; and
WHEREAS, four Council seats are to be filled for the full ter~
of four years; three seats are to be filled on the Santa Monlca-Malibu
Unified School DIstrict Board of Education and Santa MonIca Community
College District Board of Trustees for the full term of four years;
and one seat IS to be filled on the Rent Control Board for an unexpired
term ending AprIl, 1985.
NOW THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SA~TA MO~ICA,
CALIFOR)lIA, does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTIOX 1. A general munIcIpal election shall be held In the
City of Santa Monica on the 14th day of April, 1981.
SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at saId election shall be,
both as to form and matter contaIned therein, such as may be required
by law.
SECTIO~ 3. That the City Clerk of said City IS hereby authorIzed,
Instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official
ballots, notIces, printed matter, supplies and eqUIpment that may be
necessary In order to properly and lawfully conduct said election.
SECTION 4. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven
o'clock a.m. of said electIon and shall remaIn open continuously from
saId tIme until eight o'clock p.m. of the same day when said polls
shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14301 of the Elections
Code of the State of California.
SECTION 5. That notIce of the time and place of holding saId electIon
is hereby gIven and the CIty Clerk IS hereby authorIzed, instructed and
directed to give such further or additional notIce of saId election in
time, form and manner as requIred by law.
SECTION 6. That in all partIculars not recIted In thIS ResolutIon,
saId electIon shall be held and conducted as provIded by law for holdIng
munIcIpal electIons in said City.

SECTION 7. That the City Clerk is dIrected to send a copy of
thIS ResolutIon to the Registrar of Voters of the County of Los
Angeles.
SECTION 8. That the CIty Clerk shall certIfy to the adoption of
this Resolution and, thenceforth and thereafter, the same shall be
