A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ADOPTING
THE LAND USE PLAN OF THE SANTA MONICA
LOCAL COASTAL PROG~~
WHEgEAS, ln December, 1977, the Clty Counell approved
the work progra~ of the Santa Monlca Local Coastal Program ano
establlshed a Technical Advisory CO~~lttee to help prepare the
re~alnder of the progra~; ana
WHEREAS, the Callfornia Coastal COQ~lSSlOn approved
the contract for the second phase of the program in December, 1978;
and
WHEREAS, Slnce January, 1979, tne Technical Advisory
CO~~lttee has held 38 publlC workshops to dlSCUSS the varlOUS
issues of the coastal zonei and
NHEREAS, in November, 1980, the Technlcal Advlsory
Co~nlttee ado?ted a draft Land Gse Plan and submitted lt to the
Plannlng Commlssion; and
~nIEREAS, on Nove~mer 24 and December 1, 1980, the Planning
ConmisSlon held a public hearlng on the Land Use ?lan, and approved
lt Flth certaln modiflcatlonsi and
WEERCAS, after publlC hearlng, the City Council concurs
w~th the reco~~endations of the Plonnlng CO~isslon:
THE CITY COUNCIL 0:' THE CITY OF SANrrA MONICA DOES RESOLVE:

SECTION 1. The Land Use Plan of the Santa Monica Local
Coastal Program, attached hereto, is hereby adopted and approved.
SLCTION 2. Pursuant to Publ1C Resources Code Section 30510,
the City Council certif1es that the Land Use Plan of tile Local
Coastal Program lS intendec to be carr1ed out in a manner fully
1n conformity with appl1cable law, and that 1t conta1ns, 1n
accordance w1th gU1delines establlshed by the Coastal COmM1SS10n,
mater1als sufflcient for a thorough and complete review.
SECTION 3. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adootion
of thlS resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the sar.le shall
be in full force and effect.
