A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID
PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR
PURCHASE OF HElL PACKER BODY REPAIR PARTS.
l~EREAS. the City of Santa Monica Mechanical Maintenance
Department has a requirement for Heil Packer Body Repair Parts
lVHEREAS, only one (1) source can supply the parts nec-
essary to satisfy the City's requirements
WHEREAS. to the best of Staff's knowledge only one company.
Universal Truck Body. Inc. is the only distributor in this area.
NOH THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to purchase the Heil Packer Body Repair Parts.
SECTION 2. That further bid solicitation would cause
unnecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
excute a sole source purchase agreement for the equipment.
SECTION 4. The city Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution. and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
