A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID PROCEDURE
AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION FOR EXTENSION
OF }1AINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH MOTOROLA COMMUNICATIONS
AND ELECTRONICS. INC
WHEREAS. the City of Santa Monica Transportation Department
has a requirement for a Maintenance Contract for the Bus Radio
System
1~EREAS. the current vendor has offered to extend the
existing agreement for one year at no increase in cost.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the requirement
exists to provide the Transportation Department with a Bus Radio
Maintenance Agreement
SECTION 2. That further bid solicitation would cause un-
necessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager be authorized to extend
the existing maintenance agreement for a period of one year at
no increase in cost.
SECTION 4. The City clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
