A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING FURTHER FORMAL BID
PROCEDURE AND AUTHORIZING DIRECT NEGOTIATION
FOR PURCHASE OF MOBILE COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT
HHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica Police Deuartrnent has a
requirement for Mobile Communication Equipment
WHEREAS, only one (1) source, R.C A. ~obi1e Communications
can supply the equipment to satisfy the City's requirement
\{HEREAS, to the best of Staff's knowledge only one company can
supply the equipment capable of being integrated into the City's
existing R.C.A. System.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS.
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds t~at the requirement
exists to purchase the Mobile Communications Equipment
SECTION 2. That further bid solicitation would cause unnecessary
expense and delay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
excute a purchase agreement for the equipment
SECTION 4 The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resoluiton, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
