RESOLUTI ON NO. 61 76

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING CERTAIN FIRE SERVICE
CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE SUPPLIED BY THE SANTA
MONICA WATER DIVISION.
WHEREAS. the C1ty Council may establish. amend or reV1se from
time to t1me by resolut1on the rates to be charged for supplying water
services to any consumer. pursuant to Section 7212(b) of the Santa Monica
Mun1cipal Code; and.
WHEREAS. the Water D1vision has conducted a study of water rates
for the purpose of adequately support1ng Water D1vision expenditures; and.
WHEREAS. sa1d study 1ndicates a need for and proposes a water
ra te 1 nc rease ;
NOW, THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MO~ICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Charges for Service. The follow1ng bl-monthly automatic
flre serVlce charge shall be added, and shall apply at all t1mes unless the
water serVlce 1S spec1fically ordered to be term1nated by the responsible
consumer of record.

SECTION 2. Applicability. The provis1ons herein shall be
appl1cable to all water serV1ce by the City of Santa Monica Water Div1sion
except as otherW1se prov1ded 1n Artlcle VII, Chapter 2 of the Santa Mon1ca
Municipal Code.
SECTION 3. This resolut1on shall take effect upon its adopt1on.
or upon its adm1nistrative implementation. whichever last occurs.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of thlS
resolution. and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.*
