A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
RECOGNIZING APRIL 27. 1979. AS CALIFORNIA
CONSERVATION CORP TREE PLANTING DAY.
WHEREAS! the California Conservation Corp is a state-funded program
to provide training in job skills and environmental education for young men
and women of California through the performance of publ1C service conservation
projects
WHEREAS! one of the major projects of the California Conservation
Corp 1S the planting of trees in urban and non-urban areas w1th 1 1/4 million
trees planted last year.
WHEREAS, on April 27. 1979, the California Conservation Corp will
plant 120 trees on Olympic Boulevard in Santa Monica as part of a statewide
observance of Cal1fornia Conservat1on Corp Tree Planting Day.
NOW, THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That April 27. 1979, is hereby recognized as California Conservation
Corp Tree Planting Day.
That the California Conservation Corp is to be commended for its
efforts to preserve and improve the environment.
That the C1ty of Santa Mon1ca expresses its gratitude to the
California Conservation Corp for ass1stance with the City's tree planting
program.
