A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA CO~MENDING SEYMOUR A_ COHEN FOR HIS DEDICATED AND
DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEP~AS, SEYMOUR A. COHEN, s~nce 1975 has served the c~t~zens of Santa
Monlca ably and consclentlously as a member of the Clty Councll, and
WHEREAS, SEYMOUR A. COHEN was selected to serve as ~~yor Pro Tempore
In 1977, and
WHEREAS, durlng hlS term of offlce, SEYMOUR A. COHEN has applled a
common sense buslness approach to the flscal policles of the City WhlCh has
contrlbuted substantlally to the present sound flnanclal condltlon of the City
of Santa Monlca, and
~~REAS, throughout hlS successful buslness career In the Clty of Santa
Monlca, SEYMOUR A. COHEN has contributed to the well-belng of our citizens by hlS
actlve memhershlp In the Santa Monlca KlwanlS Club; the Board of Dlrectors of the
Santa Monlca Boys Club; flye years as a member of the Santa Monica Plannlng
CommlSS10TI; membershlp In the Santa Monlca Chamber of Commerce; served as Past
General Chalrman of the Santa Monica Bay Area Chapter of the Natlonal Councll of
Chrlstlans and Jews; part~cipatlon In varlOUS other service groups, and
I~EREAS, he served our natlon wlth dlstlnctlon durlng World ~ar II In
the Unlted States Marlne Corps, and
WHEREAS, SEYMOUR A. COHEN has chosen not to seek reelectlon and lS retlrlnq
from publlC offlce;
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Councll of Santa Monlca does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. SEYMOUR A. COHEN lS hereby commended for hlS years of falthful
servlce and helpful contrlbutlons to the Clty of Santa Monlca and ltS cltlzens.
SECTION 2. The Clty Councll of the Clty of Santa Monlca, on behalf of
ltself and on behalf of the cltlzens of thlS communlty, expresses ltS profound
appreclat~on to SEYMOUR A. COHEN for hlS unselflsh and dedicated community service.
SECTION 3. The Clty Clerk lS dlrected to send a certlfled copy of thlS
resolutlon to SEYMOUR A. COHEN_
