RESOLUTION NO. 5114 (CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA ORDERING THE VACATION OF THAT
PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN STREET KNOWN AS ASHLAND
AVE. BETWEEN NEILSON WAY AND THE SOUTHWESTERLY
LINE OF TRACT NO. 7425, ALL IN THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Monlca
having heard the evidence offered in relation to the proposed vacation
of that certaln street known as Ashland Ave. between Neilson Way and
the southwesterly line of Tract No. 7425 , as shown on the map of Tract
No. 7425 in the City of Santa Monica, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, recorded in Map Book 86, pages 63 et. seq., in the office
of the Recorder of sald County, hereby finds from all of the evidence
submitted that the street above referred to and proposed to be vacated
and abandoned by Resolution No. 5099 (City Council Series) is unnecessary
for present or prospectlve street purposes. For full particulars reference
hereby is made to said Resolution No. 5099 (Clty Council Series) and to
Map No. 4202 on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; which
map is entitled, If Map Showing Portion of Ashland Ave. Between Neilson
Way and Approximately 91 Feet Northeasterly, to be Vacated Under the
provisIOns of the Street Vacation Act of 1941," dated September 15, 1978.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica, in
vacating said portion of said Ashland Ave. hereby reserves an easement
over the full width of said street for utillty purposes and further
hereby restricts the right of any building construction over said street.

SECTION 3. It therefore is ordered that said street be and the
same hereby is vacated.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and the same shall be in full force and effect on and
after October 24
~ 1978. The City Clerk shall also cause a
copy of this resolution to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
