RESOLUTION NO. __ 9
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A
COMBINATION PUMPER-AERIAL LADDER FIRE TRUCK
AND WAIVING THE CALL FOR BIDS.
WHEREAS, the Fire Department of the City of Santa Monica
has need of a replacement combination pumper-aerial ladder truck; and
WHEREAS, it is heretofore been determined by dilligent
research that there are known manufacturers with the specific truck
configuration that will meet the current needs of the Fire Department; and
~rnEREAS, to advertise for bids on said equipment would be to
no avail and would cause unecessary expense and delay;
NOW, THEREFOP~, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ~ONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLm..rS:
SECTION 1. That the Fire Department of the C~ty of Santa Monica
has need of a replacement combination pumper-aerial ladder fire truck
SECTION 2. That to proceed with the formal bidding procedure
would be to no avail and would cause unecessary expense and delay.
SECTION 3
The City Manager is authorized to negotiate and
purchase on the open market. without advertising for bids, one combination
pump-aerial ladder fire truck.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
