A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
COMMENDING JOHN F. STURGES, FIRE CHIEF
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
WHEREAS, JOHN F. STURGES, CHIEF, SANTA M:01\lICA FIRE
DEPARTMENT, has served the C1ty of Santa Mon1ca for 31 years as
F1reman, Capta1n, Engineer, Train1ng Off1cer, and F1re Chief, and
WHEREAS, during his service as Fire Chief, he
1naugurated the very successful Santa Mon1ca Paramed1c program
wh1ch has saved the l1ves of a great number of our c1tizens, and
WHEREAS, Ch1ef Sturges has chosen to ret1re from the
F1re SerV1ce wh1ch has provided the very f1nest possible serV1ce
to our C1ty under his d1rect1on;
NOW, THEREFORE, The Santa Mon1ca C1ty CounC1l does
resolve that John F. Sturges be commended for his except10nal
serv1ce to the C1ty, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Santa Mon1ca City Council
express deep apprec1at1on to John for h1s ded1cation and whole-
hearted devot1on to the well-be1nq of the C1ty - and w1sh h1m well
upon h1s ret1rement.
