RESOLUTION NO. 5155(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE STATE LITTER
CONTROL, RECYCLING AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FUND.
WHEREASs the Legislature of the State of California has enacted
the State Litter Controls Recycling and Resource Recovery Act which provides
funds to certain entities for litter cleanup, litter law enforcement, litter
educations and purchase of litter receptacles; and
WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board has been delegated
the responsibility for the administration of the program, setting up necessary
procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Solid Waste
Management Board require the applicant to certify the approval of appllcations
prior to submission of said applications to the state.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council approves the filing of an
application for funding under the Litter Control, Recycling and Resource
Recovery Fund.
SECTION 2. That the City Counc1l certifies that said agency
understands the general provisions of the grant agreement.
SECTION 3. That the City Council authorizes the Director of
General Servicess as agent of the C1tys to conduct all negotiationss
execute and submit all documents including but not limited to applicationss
grant agreementss amendments and payment requestss which may be necessary
for the completion of the aforementioned program.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.
