A FINDING REGARDING THE VALUE OF
WRITTEN P~OTESTS CONC~NING MUNI-
C1:PA"L REOrt:QANIZATION 'fANNEXATION NO.

ORGANIZED WITHOUT AN ELECTION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS;
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Local Agency Formatlon
Comm~ssion (LAFCO) has adopted Resolut~on No. C-1978~~1 author~z~ng
the Clty of Santa Monica to be the conducting authority
for the boundary reorganization of approxlmate1y twenty-
elght (28) acres of inhabited territory, lying along the
rlffi of Santa Monlca Canyon, westerly of San Vicente Blvd.
and including fifty-elght (58) single, residential un~ts,
referred to as "Anl\exat~on No. 7" and described in Exhibit
"A" i and
WHEREAS, the City conducted a publlC hearing on the
proposed detachment on December 26, 1978, for the purpose
of receiving and evaluating protests against Annexation
No. 7i and
WHEREAS, the Clty Clerk of the City of Santa Monica
has given ma~led notlce of the aforesald hearing as provided
in Section 35055 of the California Government Code to
persons having flled the~r names and addresses w~th the

Clerk and requestlng such mailed nQtlce, chief petit~oners,
each affected city, and the Executive Officer of the Local
Agency Formatlon Commission, pursuant to Sectlon 35302 of
the Government Code; and
WHEREAS, at the December 26, 1978 hearing, the City
Councll has heard and received oral and written protests,
objectlons and eVldence concernlng Annexatlon No.7, and has
determined the value of written protests filed and not wlth-
drawn; and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds and determlnes that
wrltten protests to Annexation No. 7 have been f11ed and not
withq~awn by less than tw~nty-flv~ percent of the registered
voters wlthin the territory and less than twenty-five percent

NOW, THEREFORE, the Clty Council as the conducting
authorlty, hereby orders the territory described in Annexation
No. 7 annexed to the City of Santa Monica and detaChed from
the City of Los Angeles without an elect1on~ pursuant to Sectlon
35307 of the Government Code; and directs the City Clerk to
cer~ify to the adoption of thlS resolutlon and to transffilt a
certified copy thereof, together wlth any fees under Sect10n
54902.5 of the'Government Code, to the Executive Officer of
LAFCO.
