A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SUPPORTING
THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS TO
AID I~ BURGLARY SUPPRESSION.
WHEREAS, the Police Department of the Clty of Santa Monl.ca
has deterffil.ned that newly developed technology can assist ln the suppression
of the crlme of burglary; and
WHEREAS, newly developed technology can increase the effectl.ve-
ness of burglary suppressl.on wl.th the ut1.1ization of existl.ng manpower; and
WHEREAS, grant funds may be aval.lable, through the Offlce of
CrImInal Justlce Plannlng for use ln developing technologlcally advanced
systems to aId In burglary suppreSSIon, and
~~EREAS, as a condition of application for grant funds, the
Clty Councll must express its support for such application and express its
wilhngness to contribute "match'! funds ln the amount of $32.560.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the Clty Councll supports the appllcatlon for grant
monies for the purpose of brlnging to the City a technologically advanced
system to ald In burglary suppresslon.

SECTION 2.
The Clty is willing to contrlbute the amount of
$32,560 as matching funds for thlS grant.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon of
thlS resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full
force and effect.
