RESOLU'l'ION NO. 7012(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN ALLEY
KNOWN AS EUCLID COURT, BETWEEN THE RAILROAD
PROPERTY AND OLYMPIC BOULEVARD, IN THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SEC'rION 1. The City Counc11 of the City of Santa Monica
hereby declares 1ts intentlon to order the vacatien of all of
that portlen of Euclld Court from a pOlnt 410 feet northwesterly
of Olymp1c Blvd. to a pOlnt 599.77 feet northwesterly of Olympic
61 vd. , as shown on the map of the Towner Terrace Tract, in the
Clty of Santa Monica, County of Los Angeles, State of Californla,
recorded In Book 8, Page 25 ln the offlce of the Recorder of said
County.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation of
the herelnbefore mentloned ar ea, reference is made respectlvely
to Draw1ng No. 4314, dated March 18, 1985, now on file in the
off~ce of the City Cl e r k in the C1ty Hall, Santa Monica,
Callfornia.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa
Monlca, in vacat1ng sald portlon of said Euclld Court, 1ntends to
reserve and except from sa1d vacation an easement of full width

over the full length of said portion of sa1d Court intended to be
vacated, for the purpose of construct1ng, maintaining, operating,
replacing, removing and renewIng all sanitary sewers, storm
dra1ns, water ma1ns and other public utility facillties and
appurtenant structures. The reservat10ns and exceptions are
descrlbed in Drawing No. 4314. The Ci ty Council of the C1 ty of
Santa Monica finds that the publ1c convenience and necessity
require such reservat1an.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the C1ty of San ta
Monlca, in vacat1ng the above mentioned port1on of Euclid Court
elects to proceed under and in accordance with the provis1ons of
the PubllC Streets, Hlghways and Service Easements Vacat10n Law,
Streets and H1ghways Code Sect10n 8300 et seq.
SECTION 4. The hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m_ of the
28th day of May , 1985, in the Council Chamber
in the C1ty Hall, Santa Monlca, Ca11forn1a, be and the same
hereby is fixed as the t~me and place when and where all persons
interested in or obJecting to the proposed vacatlon may appear
before the City Counc11 and offer eVldence 1n relation thereto.
SECTION 5. The Street Superintendent of the C1ty of
Santa Monica hereby lS d1rected to cause Notices of Street
Vacatlon to be posted as requ1red by Streets and Highways Code
Sect10n 8323.
SECTION 6. The Clty Clerk shall cert1fy to the adoption
of th1s Resolution of Intent10n and shall cause the same to be

published in accordance with Street and HighwaY3 Code Sectlon
8322.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoptlon
of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
