A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE BUDGET FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 1985-86
WHEREAS. the proposed budget for the f~scal year
1985-1986 was subm~tted to the C~ty Counc~l th~rty-f~ve (35) days
pr~or to July 1, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Counc~l held a publ~c hearlng on sa~d
budget after a not1ce of sald budget hearlng was publ~shed not
less than ten (10) days prlor thereto; and
WHEREAS, after sald publlC hearlng, the Clty Councl1
consldered further ~ts proposed budget;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

1985-86 as submltted by the C~ty Manager and revlsed by the Clty
Councl1 WhlCh budget 15 entltled "Clty of Santa Monlca, Proposed
Budget, 1985-1986", a copy of WhlCh budget 15 attached hereto, 15
hereby approved and adopted. In adoptlng sald budget. the Clty
Councl1 lntends to and by thlS Seetlon does adopt and approve the
total operatlng approprlatlon for each departmental and
non-departmental operating budget. eonslstlng of Salarles and
Wages, Supplle5 and Expense, and Capltal Outlay maJor expendlture

categor~es, each program category of the cap~tal ~mprovements
budget, and the revenue deta~l, and does author~ze the C~ty
Manager to allot by major expend~ture category as appropr~ated.
SECTION 2. That ~n adopt~ng sa~d budget, the Cl.ty
Counc 1. 1 does hereby reappropr~ate the unencumbered balances of
the 1984-1985 Cap~tal Improvements Budget cons~stl.ng of not to
exceed $6,478,557 from the General Fund "Ganned" reserve account
and not to exceed $113,962 from the Recreat~on and Parks Fund
IIGanned" reserve account; and not to exceed the amounts from the
1984-85 Cap~ta1 Improvements Budget unencumbered balances (and
unexpended encumbrances ~f noted*) for the respect~ve funds:

SECTION 3. That the budget of the Redevelopment
Agency has been rev1ewed by the C1ty Counc1l and 15 hereby
approved and adopted.
SECT ION 4. That a cert1f1ed copy of sa1d budget be
f1led w1th the D1rector of F1nancejC1ty Controller and w1th the
C1ty Clerk and cert1f1ed cop1es of sa1d budget be reproduced and
made ava11able for use as d1rected by Sect10n 1505 of the Charter
of sa1d C1ty.
SEcrION 5. The C1ty Cle rk shall certify to the
adoptlon of th1S resolutlon and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be 10 full force and effect.
