RESOLUTION NUMBER 7074(CCS)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE PROVISION OF LOW AND
MODERATE INCOME REPLACEMENT HOUSING AND FINDING
THAT SUCH EXPENDITURE WILL BE OF BENEFIT TO THE
OCEAN PARK REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT 1 (a)
WHEREAS, it is the policy of thIS localIty to assure an ade-
quate supply of standard housIng affordable to low and lTloderate
Income persons and famlll.es; and
WHEREAS, Ocean Park Redevelopment Project l(a) (hereInafter
"Project" ) has been established In the CIty of Santa MonIca; and
WHEREAS, the Ocean Park Redevelopment ProJect caused the
demolItIon of more than 700 units of hOUSIng; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the CIty of Santa MonI-
ca seeks to Invoke the prOVISIon an Ocean Park Red eve 1 opmen t
ProJect Health and Safety Code SectIon 33334.2 for the purpose of
replaCIng the supply of housing demolIshed due to redevelopment
actIVIty; and
WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 33334.2 requires
that the Cl.ty CounCIl concur with the Redevelopment Agency's
fIndIng that the use of the funds wIll be of benefIt to the re-
development proJect area when the funds wIll be expended outSide
the boundarIes of the redevelopment project area; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency has deterlTll.ned that
replacing the supply of low and moderate Income hOUSIng available

at affordable costs outsIde of the proJect area will benefIt the
Ocean Park Redevelopment Project; and
WHEREAS, on May 8, 1984 the Redevelopment Agency adopted
ResolutIon Number 380 (RAS) establIshIng the Ocean Park Re-
development ProJect l(a) Low and Moderate Income HOUSIng Trust
Fund; and
WHEREAS, on May 8, 1984 the CIty CounCIl adopted ResolutIon
Number 6855 (CCS) concurrIng In the establIshment of such fund
and fIndIng that It IS of benefIt to the Project; and
WHEREAS, on September 10, 1985 the Redevelopment Agency
adopted Resolution Number (RAS) allocatIng $135,IHJ0 to the
HOUSIng Trust Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The CIty CounCIl fInds and determines tha t the
Ocean Park Redeveloprr~nt Project l(a) WIll benefIt by the es-
tablIshment of the Ocean Park l(a) Redevelopment ProJect Low and
Moderate Income HOUSIng Trust Fund In accordance with Health and
Safety Code SectIon 33334.2.

SECTION 2. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
thlS resolutlon, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
