A RESOLUT ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SA~TA MONICA APPROVI~G ASSESSMEN'r DIAGRAM
AND CONFIRMING ASSESSMENT FOR FRANKLIN,
BERKELEY, STANFORD AND PRINCETON STREETS
BETWEEN SAN'rA MONICA BOULEVARD AND COLORADO
AVENUE; TWENTY-FIFTH S'rREET BETWEEN PICO
BOULEVARD AND PEARL STREET; STRAND STREET FROM
SIX'I'H STREET TO LINCOLN BOULEVARD; EUCLID
STREET FROM BROADWAY TO COLORADO AVENUE
WHEREAS, the C1.ty of Santa Monica, pursuant to Sectlon
5100 et seq... of the Streets and Hlghways Code, commenced
proceedlngs to construct street lighting and appurtenant work on
Frankl1.n, Berkeley, Stanford and Pr1.nceton Streets between Santa
Monlca Boulevard and Colorado Avenue; Twenty-Fifth Street between
PlCO Boulevard and Pearl Street; Strand Street from S1.xth Street
to Lincoln Boulevard; Euclid Street from Broadway to Colorado
Avenue and;
WHEREAS, the proceed1.ng 1.S more fully described In the
ResolutIon of Intentlon adopted by the City Council on August 14,
1984, be1.ng Resolut1.on Number 6898 ( CC S ) ; and
WHEREAS, the contract for the above descrlbed work has
been fu1f1.1led to the satlsfact1.on of the Superintendent of
Streets; and
WHEREAS, the Superlntendent of Streets has made an
assessment to cover the sum due for the work performed and
spec if led in the contract, and;
WHEREAS, the assessment has been f1.1ed wlth the C1.ty
Clerk; and

WHEREAS, the C~ty Clerk gave the notice required by
Sect10n 5362 and 5363 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, upon the day and hour f1xed for hearJ.ng by the
City Clerk, the C1ty Council of the C1ty of Santa Mon1.ca heard
and passed upon any and all Ob]ect1ons, appeals, and protests,
NOW', THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION lw That all obJections, appeals, and protests of
every k1nd and nature be the same are hereby overruled and
den"ied.
SECTION 2w That the d1agram of property affected and
benefited by the construct1.on of a high-pressure sodium street
11.ght1ng system and appurtenant work on Franklin, Berkeley,
Stanford and Pr1.nceton Streets between Santa Monica Boulevard and
Colorado Avenue; Twenty-F1.fth Street between Pico Boulevard and
Pearl Street; Strand Street from Sixth Street to Lincoln
Boulevard; Eucl1.d Street from Broadway to Colorado Avenue, all in
the C1 ty of Santa MonIca, as more fully described 1.n Resolut1.on
Number 6898 (CCS) and there1.n declared to be the property to be
assessed to pay the expense of the improvements, 1.S approved and
the C1ty Clerk 1S d1rected to execute the certificate on the
d1.agram certifying such approval and to dellver the d1.agram to
the Superintendent of Streets.
SECTION 3. That the assessment for the construction of a
h1gh-pressure sod1um street 11ghtlng system and appurtenant work

on FranklIn, Berkeley, Stanford and Princeton Streets between
Santa MonIca Boulevard and Colorado Avenue; Twenty-Fifth Street
between PlCO Boulevard and Pearl Street; Strand Street from Slxth
Street to Lincoln Boulevard; Euclid Street from Broadway to
Colorado Avenue, as more fully described ln ResolutIon Number
6898 ( CCS) , be and the same hereby IS confirmed and approved.
SECTION 4. That the SuperIntendent of Streets shall
forthwith attach a warrant to said assessment bearing the date of
thlS conflrmatlon~
SECTION 5. The assessment roll, warrant and diagram shall
be recorded in the Office of the Superintendent of Streets, and
lmmedlately thereafter the CIty Clerk shall file a copy of the
assessment dlagram In the Offlce of the County Recorder, and
thereafter shall record ln sald Office of the County Recorder, a
Notice of Assessment, all in the manner and form as prescrlbed by
Section 3114 of the Streets and HIghways Code of the State of
Callforniaw
~ SECTION 6. That the Clty Clerk shall certify to the
adoptIon of thIS ReSOlution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be ln full force and effect.
