A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA PROCLAIMING THE
CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THE LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 2305 euthorlze~ the
Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the eXI~tence or
threatened eXistence of ~ local emergency when the City of Sant~
Monica 15 affected or likely to be affected by a pub 11 c Co!lIamlty
and the C I t Y Counc I 1 IS not In ~esslon; o!lnd
WHEREAS, commencing on January 27, 1983, conditions of
extreme peril to the safety of persons ~nd property have l!!rlsen
WI th In the CI ty of Sl!!nta Monica caused by storm: high tides: ..!lnd
heavy surf; and
WHEREAS, the City CounCil was not In seSSion on Jl!!lnuo!lry 27,
1983; and
WHEREAS, on Jo!lnul!!ry 27, 1983, the Director of Emergency
Services of the City of So!lnta Monlcl!! did proclaim the eXistence
of a loco!ll emergency Within the CI ty of Santa Monlcl!!: l!!nd
WHEREAS, on February 1, 1983, the C It Y Counc I I adopted
Resolution Number 6621 (CCS) , ratifYing, confirming, o!lnd
o!lpprovlng, the proclematlon of local emergency by the Director of
Emergency Servlcesj and

WHEREAS, on March 8, 1983, the CI ty Counc I I adopted
Resolution Number 6642 (CCS) , rat 1 fYll'1g , confirming, and
epprovlng, the procll!lmatlon of local emergency by the Dlrector of
Emergency SerVices; end
WHEREAS, pUl"suant to Govel"nment Code Section 8630: the CI ty
Counc I I has reViewed the need to continue the local emergency,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
