A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ORDER THE VACATION OF THAT CERTAIN STREET
KNOWN AS TWENTY-SECOND STREET FROM MICHIGAN
AVENUE TO THE SANTA MONICA FREEWAY IN THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTI ON 1.
That City Council of the City of Santa
Mon1ca hav1ng heard the evidence offered in relat10n to the
proposed vacat10n of that portion of the street known as
Twenty-Second Street, 60 feet w1de, between Mich1gan Avenue and
the Santa Mon1ca Freeway, as shown on the map of Erkenbrecher
Syndicate Santa Mon1ca Tract, 1n the City of Santa Monica, County
--{J-f--Los Angeles, State of Ca1ifornla, recorded in book 6, pages 26
and 27 of maps in the off1ce of the Recorder of sa1d County,
hereby finds from all of the evidence submitted that the portion
of the street above referred to and proposed to be vacated by
Resolutlon No. 6763 (City Council Series) ;s unnecessary for
present or prospectlve street purposes.

reference hereby 1S made to sa1d Resolution 6763 (CCS) and to the
attached map marked Exh1blt "A", dated September 26. 1983, on
f1le in the office of the City Clerk of sald City.
SECTION 2.
The Ci ty Counc i 1 of the City of Santa
Monlca,
in vacating said port1on of Twenty-second Street,
reserves the street as a storm water conductor. Any changes 1n
the street drainage shall be approved by the Clty Englneer.

reserves the street for an easement for overhead utility 11nes
and appurtenances.
SECTION 4.
The City Counc1l of the City of Santa
Mon1ca, 1S vacating sa1d portion of Twenty-second Street from
Michigan Avenue to the Santa Mon1ca Freeway, in accordance with
the provis1ons of the "Street Vacat10n Act of 1941." being
D1Vlsion 9. Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of Ca 1 itorn1 a.
SECTION 5. It 1S. therefore, ordered that said portion
of Twenty-Second Street between M1chlgan Avenue and the Santa
Monica Freeway as shown on the attached map marked Exh1bit "A"
dated September 26, 1983, be vacated.
SECTION 6.
The C1ty Clerk shall cert1fy to the
adoption of th1S Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect. The City Clerk shall
also cause a copy of this resolution to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
