A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ORDER THE VACTION OF THAT CERTAIN STREET
KNOWN AS TWENTY-SECOND STREET FROM MICHIGAN
AVENUE TO THE SANTA MONICA FREEWAY IN THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The City Councll of the City of Santa
Monica hereby declares its intention to order the vacatlon of all
of that portlon of Twenty-second Street from Michlgan Avenue to
the Santa Monica Freeway, as shown on the map of Erkenbrecher
Syndicate Santa Monica Tract, ln the City of Santa Monlca, County
of Los Angeles, State of Callfornia, recorded in book 6, pages 26
and 27 of maps in the offlce of the Recorder of said County. For
further
particulars
as to the proposed vacation and and
abandonment of the hereinbefore mentloned areas, reference is
made to the attached map marked Exhlbit "AU dated September 26,
1983.
SECTION 2.
The Clty Counci 1 of the City of Santa
Monica, in vacating said portlon of Twenty-second Street, hereby
lntends to make said vacation conditional on the reservation of

the street as a storm water conductor. Any changes in the street
drainage shall be approved by the City Englneer.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Santa
Monlca, in vacatlng said portion of Twenty-second Street, hereby
lntends to make said vacation condltional on the reservation of
the street belng reserved for an easement for overhead utility
llnes and appurtenancles.
SECTION 4. The City Council of the City of Santa
Monica, in vacatlng said portion of Twenty-second Street from
Michigan Avenue to th Santa Monica Freeway, elects to proceed
under and in accordance wlth the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being DivlSlon 9, Part 3, of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of Callfornia.
SECTION 5. The hour of 7:30 p.m. of the 8th day of
November, 1983, ln the Councll Chamber in the City Hall. Santa
Monica, Callfornia, lS fixed as the tlme and place when and where
all persons interested in or obJectlng to the proposed vacation
and abandonment may appear before the City Council and offer
evidence in relation thereto.
SECTION 6. The Street Superintendent of the City of
Santa Monica hereby is directed to cause Notices of Street
Vacation to be posted as required by the Street Vacation Act of
1941.

Clerk shall cause this
resolution. lncluding Exhlbit "AU hereto,
to be published
tWlce
in
the Evening Outlook, a newspaper published and
clrculated ln the Clty of Santa Monlca. The flrst of said
publlcations shall be not less than fifteen days prior to
November 8, 1983.
SECT! ON 8.
That the Clty Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be 1 n fu 11 force and effect.
