A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING AND
INSTRUCTING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS TO
GIVE NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS TO CONSTRUCT
GUTTERS AND TO RESURFACE VARIOUS CITY STREETS
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 1983-84 STREET
RESURFACING PROGRAM (GCjSR-2)
WHEREAS, there is a need to construct concrete gutters
and to resurface along certain City streets, all within the City
of Santa Monica; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5870 et seq. of the
Streets and Hlghways Code procedures exist to notify property
owners of their duty to construct or cause to be constructed the
concrete gutters and to resurface or cause to be resurfaced
streets and to direct the Superintendent of Streets to construct
the concrete gutters and to resurface the streets if not
constructed or caused to be constructed by the property owners;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Clty of Santa Monica
on ~ts own motion may order the construction of the concrete
gutters and the resurfaclng of streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 5875 of the Streets and
Highways Code, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica
orders the construction of concrete gutters and the resurfacing
of streets on Nebraska between Stewart and Centinela, Euclid
between Wllshire and 150 feet south of wilshire, Euclid between

Santa Monlca and 250 feet north of Santa Monlca, Ashland between
Ma~n and 100 feet east of Main, Berkeley between Nebraska and
Pennsylvania, Berkeley between 161 feet north of Wllshire and ISO
feet south of Wilshire, Eleventh Street between pico and 77 feet
north of pico on the westerly side, Ozone between Lincoln and 87
feet east of Lincoln, Third Street between wilshire and 100 feet
north of Wilshire and Fourth Street between Wilshire and 100 feet
north of wilshire.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section S876 of the Streets and
H~ghways Code, the Superintendent of Streets shall notify, in the
manner required by law, the owners of property on Nebraska
between Stewart and Centlnela, Euclid between Wilshire and 150
feet south of WilShire, Euclid between Santa Monica and 250 feet
north of Santa Monica, Ashland between Main and 100 feet east of
Main, Berkeley between Nebraska and Pennsylvan~a, Berkeley
between l61 feet north of Wilshire and 150 feet south of
Wilshire, Eleventh Street between Pico and 77 feet north of Pico
on the westerly side, Ozone between Lincoln and 87 feet east of
Lincoln, Third Street between Wllshire and 100 feet north of
Wllshlre and Fourth Street between W1lshire and 100 feet north of
Wilshlre to construct or cause to be constructed concrete gutters
and to resurface or cause to be resurfaced streets. The notlce
shall contain the information required by Section 5879 of the
Streets and Highways Code and shall also specify the day, hour
and place, as set forth in Section 3 of this Resolution, where
the City Council of the Clty of Santa Monica will hear and pass

SECTION 3.
That pursuant to Section S878.l of the
Streets and Highways Code, the City Council of the City of Santa
Monlca does hereby order and declare that on the 28th day of
February,
1984, at 7:30 P.M. ln the Council Chambers of City
Hall,
lt will hear and pass upon objections or protests, if any,
which may be raised by any property owner or other interested
person.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be 1n full force and effect.
