A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING
CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE WRITTEN
ARGUMENTS REGARDING MEASURES TO BE PLACED
ON THE BALLOT AT THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
ON TUESDAY, JUNE 5, 1984
WHEREAS, a Spec1al Munlcipal Election lS to be held ln the
City of Santa Monica on Tuesday, June 5, 1984; and
WHEREAS, at the Special Mun~cipal Elect10n there will be
submitted to the quallfled electors of the C1ty of Santa Monica
four propositions to amend the C1ty Charter; and
WHEREAS. Electlons Code Sect~on 5010 et seq. prov~des for
procedures for arguments concern1ng city measures; and
WHEREAS, Elections Code Sect10n 5013 authorizes the Clty
Council, or any member or members of the City Councll author1zed
by the City Councll, to file a written argument for or against
any c~ty measure,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1.
The C~ty Counc~l authorizes the following

length, are to be filed with the C1ty Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on March
19, 1984. Arguments so subm1tted may be changed or withdrawn by
the authors unt11 and includ1ng the date fixed by the City Clerk
after wh1ch no arguments for or aga1nst the measure may be
subm1tted to the C1ty Clerk.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adopt10n of
this Resolut1on, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
1n full force and effect.
