A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA APPROVING THE
APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS TO
AID IN WESTS IDE MULTIJURISDICTIONAL MAJOR
CRIME VIOLATORS TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Santa Monica Police Department desires to
undertake a certain project des1gnated as the Career Crim1nal
Apprehension Program; and
WHEREAS, the Career Crlminal Apprehension Program w~ll be
funded 1n part from funds made available through State General
Funds for Flscal Year 1984-85 as author1zed by Chapter 1167 of
the 1978 Statutes and as adm1n1stered by the Off1ce of Crlminal
Just1ce Planning (OCJP),
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Clty Manager of the C~ty of Santa Monica
is authorized, on behRlf 0f t~e CJty of Santa ~onlca, to submit
the attched Appllcation for Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes
to OCJP and ~s authorized to execute on beh~lf of the City of
Santa Monica the attached Grant Award for Law Enforcement Purposes
including any extensions or amendments thereof.

SECTION 2. The C1ty of Santa Mon1ca agrees to prov1de all
hard matchlng funds requlred for the above described proJect
(lncludlng any extension or amendment thereof) under the Career
Crlminal Apprehension Program and the rules and regulations of
OCJP and that cash will be approprlated as requ1red thereby.
SECTION 3. Grant funds rece1ved for the above-descr1bed
proJect shall not be used to supplant law enforcement expendi-
tures controlled by the C1ty Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adopt1on
of th1s Resolut1on,and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be 1n full force and effect.
