A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING APRIL 1
THROUGH APRIL 30, 1984 AS NATIONAL
FAIR HOUSING MONTH
WHEREAS, Apr~l 1 through Apr~l 30, 1984 has been
declared National Fair Housing Month; and
WHEREAS, National Fair Housing Month is intended to
commemorate the passage of the Fair Hous1ng Law, Title VIII of
the Ci v1l Rights Act of 1968, and focus attent10n on the
progress in the elimination of discriminatory housinq
practices and the need to continue efforts on tbe elimination
of further discriminatory practices; and
WHEREAS, National Falr Hous~ng Month will increase
public awareness of the Fair Housing laws and assist local
Fa~r Housing programs, such as the Fa~r Housing Program for
the C~ty of Santa Mon1ca,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
April 1 through April 30, 1984 is declared
to be National Fa1r Housing Month in the City of Santa Monica.

SECTIOt-1 2.
The C~ty Council supports the importance of
education to ensure the continued efforts to eliminate
discr~mination in housing and promote fair housing for all
people.
SECTION 3. The C~ty Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
