A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR
CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRICAL TRANSFORMER
EQUIPMENT LOCATED AT 2601 MAIN STREET, SANTA MONICA
WHEREAS, the Southern California EdIson Company
requires a Grant of Easement for construction and maintenance of
electrical transformer equipment to provIde electrical service to
the Ocean Park Llbrary expansion; and
WHEREAS, in order to prOVIde the requlred transformer,
the use of publIC property lS required; and
WHEREAS, Southern Callforria EdIson Company deslres
that the City grant an easement for the use of the publlC
property; and
WHEREAS, the City Coul"cll flnds that an easement lS of
dlrect benefit to the Clty of Santa Monica.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The grant of easemert to Southern
Callfornla Edlson Company 15 approved and the CIty Manager is
authorized to execute the Grant of Easement attached hereto as
Exhiblt A.

SECTION 2. The CIty Clerk shall certlfy to the
adoptIon of thIS Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be ln full force and effect.

EXHIBIT "A"
Two strips of land each 12.50 feet in width lying within Lot 2 in Block Q
of Santa Mon1ca Commercial Co's. Tract, as per map recorded 1n Book 52,
page 27 of Miscellaneous Records. in the office of the County Recorder of
said County; the centerline of said strips being descr1bed as follows:
STRIP NO.1: Beginning at a point in the southeasterly line of said Lot
2, distant northeasterly thereon 16 feet from the southwesterly line
thereof; thence northwesterly parallel with said southwesterly line 6
feet to a point hereinafter referred to as Point "A".
STRIP 1m. 2: Beginning at said Point "A"; thence northwesterly parallel
with said southwesterly line 8 feet.
Also the southeasterly 5 feet of the northeasterly 77.75 feet of said
Lot 2.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM any portion lyi~g within Ocean Park Boulevard and
Second Street. as now established.
Grantee shall have the right of ingress and egress to the easement at
any reasonable time in order to use, maintain. operate, repair, replace,
reconstruct. inspect and remove the systems which the Grantee installs
in the easement area.
Grantee accepts this easement and right of way with the knowledge that
the Grantor intends to improve the easement area described in Strip No.2
by constructing a building. Also Grantor agrees that in making such
improvement. Grantor shall adequately protect Grantee's systems against
such improvement.
