A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ,
THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING I
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAINING
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. The City Council of the City of Santa
MonIca approves the Hazardous Mater~als TraIning Contract
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. John Jalili, City Manager, ~s hereby
authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of
Santa Mon~ca the Hazardous Mater~als Tra~n~ng Contract and
any other documents necessary in connection therewith.
SECTION 3. The C~ty Clerk shall certify to the adop-
tion of th~s Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.

work with the Department of callfornla Highway Patrol, herelnafter
referred to as CHP, to traIn various law enforcement and public

the perIod January 1 , 1985 through June 30, 1985.
2. Contractor agrees to perform all serVIces In accordance wlth the at-
tached OutlIne marked "Exhibit All, HhlCh IS made by reference a part
hereof.
3. State agrees to furnlsh all traInIng manuals and lilaterl3.ls required
for the course. All dates of traInIng and InstructIon shall be co-
ordInated by the CHP.
4. ThIS agreement may be cancelled by the Sta te upon f~ve ( 5) days

5. ThIS agreement may be amended in wrItIng and s~gned by both
partIes hereto.
6. State agrees to pay contra~tor upon co~pletion of the traInIng
course and receipt of the following documents:

Form No. CHP 82 (quadruplicate)
All Invoices and claims shall be mailed to cHP, Attention
Off~cer JIm LarkIn, OperatIonal Planning Section, 2555 First
Avenue, Sacra~ento, CA 95818. State agrees to pay contractor
actual costs Incurred Including salary, staff benefIts, and
overhead costs. State further agrees to reImburse contractor
or h~s deslgnat~d employee for travel and per dlew expenses
authorIzed In advance by the CHP coordInator, and WhlCh travel
IS actually and nec2ssarlly Incurred in the performance of
thlS agree~ent. All travel and per dIem shall be paId ln ac-
cordance WIth the current State of CalifornIa, Department of
Personnel Adminlstratlon Regulations.
7. Total expenditures for thIS agree~ent durIng the term hereof
shall not exceed seven thousand fIve hundred dollars ($7,500.00).
P9y~ents shall be made fro~ funds approprlated to the Depart-
ment of Callfor~la Hlghway Patrol dn~ subJec~ to t~c flscal
procedures of the State of callfornla. After approval of 1n-
V01ce, contractor shall receIVe pay~ent wlthln four (41 weeks
after approval date.
8. Th1S contract is valId and enforceable only If sufficient
funds are made avaIlable by the Budget Act of 1984, for the
flscal year 1984/85, for the purposes of thlS program. In
additIon, th~s contract 1S subJect to any addltlonal restric-
tions, limitations, or cond~tions enacted by the Legislature
and contaIned In the above Budget Bill or any statute enacted
by the LegIslature WhICh may affect the provlsions, terms or
fund1ng of thIS contract In any ~anner.
9. City of Santa Bonica Fire Department designates the follOWIng

OUTLINE OF TRAINING SCHEDULE
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
"EXHIBIT A"
Contractor shall provIde two lnstructors to perform the followlng
schedule of tralnlng:
1) One lnstructor teamed WIth a CHP Sergeant, shall Instruct
varlOUS law enforcement and publlC serVIce personnel In the
CHP/Callfornla Flre Servlce Statewlde Hazardous Materlals
Module I and II courses. AddItIonally, one Instructor teamed
wlth a CHP Captaln, shall lnstruct varIOUS law enforcement and
publIC ser-Vlce personnel ln the CHP/Callfornla FIre SerVIce
Statewlde Hazardous Mater-Ials Module III cour-se.
2) Instructors are entItled to necessary travel expenses and
shall Instruct tralnlng classes at locatlons throughout a
speclflc area of the State of Callfornla as deslgnated by CHP.
