A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING AND
INSTRUCTING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS TO
GIVE NOT! CE TO PROPERTY OWNERS TO CONSTRUCT
GUTTERS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE WILSHIRE
BOULEVARD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT FROM 21ST
STREET TO CENTINELA AVENUE.
WHEREAS, there IS a need to construct concrete gutters
alorg WilshIre Boulevard between 21st Street and Centlnela Avenue
ir. the CIty of Santa MonIca; and
WHEREAS, in accordance WIth Sectlon 5870 et seq. of the
Streets and Hlghways Code procedures eXIst to notify property
owners of their duty to construct or cause to be constructed the
concrete gutters and to direct the SuperIntendent of Streets to
construct the concrete gutters lf not constructed Or caused to be
constructed by the property owners; and
WHEREAS, the City Councll of the City of Santa MonIca on
lts own motIon may order the constructlon of the concrete
gutters.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1- Pursuar:t to Sectlon 5875 of the Streets and
HIghways Code, the CIty CouPcll of the CIty of Santa MonIca
orders the constructIon of concrete gutters on WIlshire Boulevard
between 21st Street and Centlnela Aver.ue.

SECTION 2. Pursuant to the SectIOJ" 5876 of the Streets
and HIghways Code, the Super1ntendent of Streets shall notIfy, In
the manner requIred by law, the owners of property on Wilshire
Boulevard to construct or cause to be constructed concrete
gutters. The notIce shall contaIn the Information required by
SectloJ" 5879 of the Streets and HIghways Code and shall also
speclfy the day, hour and place, as set forth In Sectlon 3 of
this ResolutioJ", where the City CouncIl of the CIty of SaJ"ta
Monica wlll hear and pass upon objections or protests, If any,
WhICh may be raIsed by property owner or other interested
persons.
SECTION 3. That pursuant to SectIon 5878.1 of the
Streets and HIghways Code, the CIty CouncIl of the CIty of Santa
MOJ"lca does hereby order and declare that on the 9th day of
AprIl, 1985, at 7:30 P.M. 1n the Council Chambers of C1ty Hall,
it wlll hear and pass upon Objections or protests, if any, which
may be raised by any property owners or other Interested persons.
SECTION 4. The CIty Clerk shall certIfy to the adopt1on
of thIS Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full forc e and effect.
