RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT
OF STREETS REGARDING REPAIRS TO DAMAGED SIDEWALKS,
DRIVEWAYS AND CURBS CSR-85-60)
WHEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the CIty of Santa
MonIca, pursuant to Section 5600 to 5630 of the Streets and HIghways
Code, commenced proceedH,gs to cause the repair of damaged SIdewalks,
drIveways arid curbs ln the CIty of Santa Morlca at 1515 Maple Street,
1516 Maple Street, 1507 PacIfIC Street, 1411 PacIfIC Street, 1419
Pacific Street, 1412 Pacific Street, 1415 Pacific Street, 1501 Pacific
Street, 1418 PaCIfIC Street, 1516 PacifiC Street all within the CIty
of Santa MonIca.
WHEREAS, sixty days after saId order was served, the work had
not been completed by the owners or persor:s In possession of the
affected properties, and the SuperIntendent of Streets caused the work
to be done; and
WHEREAS, the SuperIntendent of Streets gave the notice
requIred by Section 5616 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, the SuperIntendent of Streets dId flle with the CIty
CounCIl of the CIty of Santa MonIca hIS report of repaIrs and cost as
requIred by Section 5617 of the Streets arid HIghways Code; arid
WHEREAS, upon the day arid hour flXed for hearIng by ResolutIon
Number 6972 (CCS) , the City CounCIl of the CIty of Santa MonIca heard
and passed upon the report of the Superlnter.dent of Streets together
with all obJectIons ard protests as required by Section 5618 of the
Streets and HIghways Code;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the report of the Superintendent of Streets
heretofore flled ar,d above-described be ar.d the same is hereby
confIrmed.
SECTION 2. That all protests and obJectlons of every kInd arid
nature to the report of the SuperIntendent of Streets be and the same
are hereby overruled arid denied.
SECTION 3. That the cost of the repaIrs, as set forth Iri the
report of the Superlntendent of Streets, shall be assessed agaInst the
properties thereIn described, which propertIes frorit upon the sidewalk
upon WhICh the repairs were made.
SECTION 4. That If such assessment is not paid WIthIn the
tIme permltted by law, the same shall COristltute a specIal assessment
agalrist and ller. on the properties thereIn descrIbed, In the amount
set forth In the report of the SuperInterider.t of Streets, WhlCh lien
shall cortlr.ue unt il the assessment and all Interest thereon lS paid
or until It is dlscharged of record.
SECTION 5. That If the assessment IS not pald withIn the time
permitted by law, the SuperIritendent of Streets, lI'; accordance wlth
Section 5628 of the Streets and Highways Code, shall deliver a Notice
of Lien, prepared In the manner reqUIred by Section 5626 of the
Streets ard HIghways COde, to the Cour.ty Audltor who shall collect the
assessment together WIth all other taxes agaInst the property.

SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certIfy to the adoptIon
of thls resolutlOr. and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
